Why You Should Visit
Held as the annual festival of Osakabe Shrine, the Himeji Yukata Festival marks the arrival of summer. Food stalls and local shops line the streets around the shrine, Jonan Park and the shopping arcades, filling the town with yukata-clad visitors. The first day features a children's yukata parade from Himeji Castle's Sannomaru Square to Jonan Park. Come in a yukata and you'll enjoy perks such as free admission to Himeji Castle and nearby attractions and half-price Shinki Bus fares.
