Why You Should Visit

A traveling, hands-on summer festival takes over the north-side outdoor arcade on the first floor of Daimaru Kobe for three days over the Obon holiday. Expect food stalls (shaved ice, yakisoba and the like), classic children's festival games such as ring toss and target shooting, handmade goods from local makers, and craft workshops. Admission is free, so it works as a quick stop while walking around the Kyu-Kyoryuchi and Motomachi districts — especially with kids in tow.
