Why You Should Visit

Charles Fazzino, the American pop artist known for his work as an official MLB artist, brings around 40 pieces to the Art Gallery at Kobe Hankyu to mark 50 years of his career. Each work is built with his 3D layering technique: multiple prints of the same image are cut apart and stacked by hand with silicone, so cities and crowds seem to rise off the surface. Glitter and Swarovski crystals catch the light, and the closer you look, the more small jokes and details appear. The gallery sits inside the department store, steps from Sannomiya Station.

Is there an admission fee?

Neither Kobe Hankyu nor the organiser has announced an admission fee. Please call Kobe Hankyu on 078-221-4181 to check before you go.

Do I need a reservation, and how late is it open?

No reservation has been announced. The gallery is open 10:00–20:00, and closes at 16:00 on the final day, September 29.

Is it a good option on a rainy day?

The gallery is indoors on the 4th floor of the department store, so the weather makes no difference. It is a few minutes' walk from Sannomiya Station, which makes it an easy rainy-day stop.
