Why You Should Visit

An autumn street festival built by the restaurants, shops and residents of Ninomiya, held along Ninomiya Shopping Street and the surrounding streets. Showa-retro food stalls and workshops line the arcade, and the neighborhood's chefs step out of their kitchens onto the street. Food and drink are paid for with ¥200 tickets, and any tickets you don't use can be spent later at participating restaurants. Around 800 people came last time; this year the organizers are aiming for 1,000. A good day out whether you want to sample many local places at once or just wander the street with kids.
