Why You Should Visit

AWAHAWA — an event built around the idea of "Hawaiian time on Awaji Island" — brings a travelling edition to Akashi Citizens' Plaza, right by Akashi Station. The venue is the indoor plaza on the 2nd floor of Papios Akashi, where hula and Hawaiian music take the stage over two days that drop a touch of the islands into the middle of town. Admission and viewing are free, so you can drop in while shopping and simply listen for a while. Being indoors, it also runs regardless of the weather — welcome in midsummer.
