Why You Should Visit

A one-day festival for children at Uji City Botanical Park on Labor Thanksgiving Day. Admission to the park is free that day. Kids can join a treasure hunt around the gardens, try craft and science workshops, and pose for photos in front of a flower cake display. The stage runs from morning to late afternoon with acts including the Amakusa Circus and the cheerleading club of Ritsumeikan Uji High School, and food trucks, cotton candy and popcorn stalls set up on site. Watashi no Kosodate MEET!, with workshops and talks by local parenting groups, runs alongside, adding booths for slime making and disaster-preparedness crafts plus a stamp rally.
