Why You Should Visit

Thikity friends, an artist based mainly in the Kanto region, holds a first solo show in Osaka at JITSUZAISEI, a gallery and bar in Oimazato, Higashinari Ward. Drawn with a warm, picture-book touch and a refined sense of colour, the artist's characters build scenes that feel nostalgic and quietly funny. The carefully worked details and the stories that grow out of free-flowing ideas are part of the appeal. In the evening the space runs as a bar, so you can stay for a drink surrounded by the work.

Artist, from Chigasaki, Kanagawa

A graduate of the graphic design department at Tama Art University, the artist has worked as an artist since 2021, depicting nature and living creatures within a fantastical world, with shows in Tokyo, Yokohama and Okayama. In 2025 the artist held the solo show At my fireplace at OIL by Bijutsu Techo Gallery in Shibuya PARCO. The symbol character Thikity is a tribute to a self-portrait drawn to mark kindergarten graduation.
