Moto-Eikai 6-chome Jizo-bon 2026

Why You Should Visit

A neighborhood Jizo-bon held at Motomachi Taki Park, a pocket park inside the arcade at the western end of Motomachi shopping street. Jizo-bon is a summer observance of praying to the Jizo statue for health, safety and a child's healthy growth, run here by the local residents' association and the shopping street. Children are the focus: from 3pm on the 24th, sweets are handed out as an offering (400 while they last). Free, no sign-up, and small enough to drop into with young kids while shopping.

Do I need a reservation, and is there a fee?

Neither. It's free — just come to Motomachi 6-chome Taki Park during the event hours.

When are the sweets handed out?

From 3pm on August 24, the second day. 400 bags are given out as an offering, ending when they run out.

Can I come with young children?

Yes — children are the whole point of the event. The venue is a small park inside the Motomachi arcade, so strollers are fine.
