Why You Should Visit

A retrospective marking 120 years since the birth of Japanese oil painter Setsuko Migishi (1905–1999). Widowed at a young age, she kept painting for decades: first the richly colored tabletop still lifes that made her name in the 1950s, then the landscapes she turned to after moving to France in her late forties. She worked until her death at 94. Around 70 major works and archival materials trace that long career, with a companion show, "Selected Works of Ryohei Koiso III," in Gallery 3.
