Shosei-en is about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station, on the east side of Higashi Hongan-ji; Shigenobu Kaikan is just west of the garden. Public transport recommended.

There are 12 car parks within a 12-minute walk of Shosei-en Garden (Kikoku-tei), Shigenobu Kaikan and satellite venues around Kyoto, and 3 public restrooms within 8 minutes. The map shows each with its walking time.

TICKETS / REGISTRATION

Buy tickets online via Peatix as directed on the official ticket page (advance prices until 8 Oct, day prices after). Cash on the day is accepted only at the Shigenobu Kaikan desk; Shosei-en takes online payment only. Re-entry allowed on the same day. Walk & Talk (daily 14:00–16:00, ¥5,000 bundled with the combined ticket) has limited places and needs advance booking.

• Adaptive Radiation (Rofu-tei): group show of young artists working with craft and traditional techniques, curated by Kodama Kanazawa
• "I Am. We Are. Liberty" (Rinchi-tei, Tekisui-ken and garden): archive show for Liberty's 150th anniversary, including collaborations with Kyoto artisans

• 1F: All Our Blood (UK) — installation by Harry Pearce, music by Peter Gabriel
