Why You Should Visit

A two-day celebration of Thai culture at the Shichijo Entrance Plaza of Umekoji Park, just west of Kyoto Station. More than 50 booths are planned, from Thai street food such as gapao rice, tom yum goong and khao soi to Thai crafts and embroidered goods. The stage features dancers and a traditional music ensemble visiting from Thailand, and there are hands-on corners for fruit carving, Thai sweets and traditional costume. Admission is free, so it is easy to drop by alongside the Kyoto Aquarium or Kyoto Railway Museum. Good for families and anyone who loves Thai food.
