Why You Should Visit

A reuse festival born in Kyoto that gets Gen Z thinking about how clothes can circulate. It runs twice a year, in spring and autumn, at the Shichijo Entrance Plaza of Umekoji Park, and this is the ninth edition. Expect a market of vintage shops and upcycling brands, a food market focused on carefully sourced ingredients, workshops, a stage, and reuse and recycling exhibits by students and companies. The signature is the ¥0 Market, where you can take home up to three pieces of donated clothing for free. The spring edition drew about 15,000 people. A good stop if you have clothes to pass on or enjoy digging through secondhand finds.
