Why You Should Visit

A local summer festival held each year at Kurodasho Ground in Nishiwaki. Alongside bon dancing and food stalls, the first 1,600 visitors receive raffle tickets for a lottery of local specialties. The finale is about 400 fireworks launched from around 8:20 pm, seen up close from the field surrounded by rice paddies. A free shuttle runs from JR Kurodasho Station — a good pick for families after a small, easygoing festival night with fireworks in North Harima.

The nearest station is Kurodasho Station on the JR Kakogawa Line. By car, eight temporary parking lots are available; a free shuttle bus runs to the venue from the Hyosu Shrine and Oka Aiai Center lots.

Admission is free. Food at the stalls is paid individually, and raffle tickets are handed out free to the first 1,600 visitors.

What time do the fireworks start?

About 400 shells are planned from around 8:20 pm. The festival itself starts at 6:30 pm.

What happens if it rains?

The festival goes ahead in light rain but is cancelled in stormy weather. If the weather looks doubtful, check with the Kurodasho district hall or Nishiwaki City announcements.
