Why You Should Visit

The picture book series Kobitozukan, now celebrating its 20th anniversary, holds its first-ever drone show at Meriken Park for one night only. Around 1,000 Japanese-made DSJ MODEL-X drones draw the book's quirky little creatures across the night sky over Kobe Port in a show of about 15 minutes, and watching is free. The show is organized by Drone Show Japan with the support of Kobe City. Kobe Port Weekend Fireworks go up off Meriken Park at 18:00 the same evening, so you can catch both fireworks and the drone show in one visit. A good pick for families who love Kobitozukan and anyone after Kobe's harbor at night.

A Japanese picture book series by Toshitaka Nabata, published by Rokurinsha since 2006. Written like a field guide, it introduces "kobito": odd little creatures said to live unseen around us, in fields and near people's homes
