Why You Should Visit

A plant market on the East Plaza in front of Harborland's red-brick warehouses. Following the spring edition in May, this autumn round brings together sellers of houseplants, succulents, bonsai, cut flowers and seedlings, plus makers of woodwork, flower vessels and botanical candles. Coffee, tacos, baked goods and honey drinks are on hand too, so you can pick up a plant for your room while strolling the waterfront. A beginner-friendly mini bonsai workshop (paid, reservation required) is also held.

For beginners, led by Kamejiro Shoten. Make a mini shimpaku (juniper) bonsai
4 sessions: 11:00 / 12:00 / 13:00 / 14:00 (about 45 min each)
¥4,000 (tax incl.). Textbook, seedling and pot included. Nothing to bring; wear clothes that can get dirty

Is there an admission fee?

Entry is free. Only the mini bonsai workshop costs ¥4,000 per session, materials included.

Is it held if it rains?

It is cancelled in case of rain. On doubtful days, check Kobe Harborland's official announcements.

Do I need to book the workshop?

Yes. Apply to Kamejiro Shoten by email. Sessions start at 11:00, 12:00, 13:00 and 14:00, and you don't need to bring anything.
