Why You Should Visit

Kaizuka, Kishiwada's next-door neighbour, holds its own autumn danjiri festival every October. In 2026 the eve (Yoimiya) falls on Sat Oct 10 and the main day (Honmiya) on Sun Oct 11. Around 20 floats run through the Asogo, Minami-Kogi, Kishima and Nishi-Katsuragi districts, tearing along narrow old-road streets and swinging hard round corners in the yarimawashi turn — all within arm's reach of the crowd. Each district has its own running style and carvings, so walking between them is part of the fun. Roadside viewing is free.
