Why You Should Visit

For two days, an open plaza among the stone-clad office blocks of Kobe's former foreign settlement becomes a beer yard. KADO is an event series that re-edits a corner of the district around a theme each time, and issue one is craft beer. Six breweries pour here — three from Kobe plus well-regarded names from Ise, Kyoto and Onomichi — and 7oz pours and tasting flights make hopping between them easy. Food and soft drinks come from the hotel THE ORIENT. Outdoor, standing, 15:00 to 21:00, with music.

FAQ

Do I need a reservation?
No reservation system is announced — you order and pay at each stand in the plaza.
Can I try small pours from several breweries?
Each brewery offers roughly 7oz pours plus tasting flights (¥1,600–¥2,200), so small sizes are the way to cover all six.
Is there anything for non-drinkers?
The hotel THE ORIENT serves soft drinks and food such as fries and yodare-dori chicken. The venue is an open-air public plaza.
