Venue & access: Otemae Park, Himeji About 13 min on foot from the north exit of JR Himeji Station, or 11 min from Sanyo-Himeji Station. By car, use paid parking around Himeji Castle (e.g. Otemon car park); the organizer recommends public transport.

Why You Should Visit

For three days, Otemae Park just south of Himeji Castle becomes a Taiwanese night market. Organized by Himeji City through its exchange with Taipei, with the cooperation of the Taipei Ningxia Night Market Tourism Association. 35 booths—23 food, 8 goods, 5 experience areas—serve Taiwanese street food and sweets alongside market stalls and relaxation until 21:00. Free entry. It pairs well with a castle visit over the holiday weekend, drifting into the night-market mood from early evening. Held in light rain, cancelled in severe weather (announced at 8:00 on the day).
