Why You Should Visit
A cat-themed market held in Nigiwai Plaza, the central underground passage on the north side of Himeji Station. Around 30 booths sell cat-motif goods, accessories and artwork, and admission is free. This fifth edition adds a special program, Cat Outfits & Cat Cosplay Gathering, inviting visitors to come dressed in cat-inspired outfits or costumes. The market grew out of Harima Neko Densetsu, a project promoting Himeji and the Harima region through cats. Being underground, it is an easy stop even on a rainy day, whether you are hunting for cat goods or passing through Himeji Station between trains.
