Why You Should Visit

A one-day market that opens up the Himeji Central Wholesale Market, which moved to its new site in 2026. The centerpiece is job experience for elementary school children: 10 kinds of work — nursing, teaching, construction, carpentry, drone piloting, nail art, leather craft, fish auctioning and more — run by local companies and universities, with venue-only paper money so kids earn and spend as they go. Food and retail run to 24 booths, including dishes made with fish and vegetables from the market itself, plus food trucks and a display of Japan Self-Defense Force work vehicles you can photograph. Eight local acts take the stage in the afternoon, and the comedy duo Smile closes the night with a manzai live. Admission is free.
