Harima Sake Tasting 2026

Dates & time: August 21, 2026 (Fri) - August 22, 2026 (Sat) Fri Aug 21: 16:00–19:00 / Sat Aug 22: 14:00–17:00 (ends early once the sake runs out)
cost: Take part in the 500-yen charity on the day and you receive a strip of five tasting tickets. Pours are exchanged for tickets, with each sake needing one to three of them.
Venue & access: MONZEN Himeji Local Gateway (Quel Himeji 1F–2F, Himeji, Hyogo) Just north of JR Himeji Station, on floors 1–2 of Quel Himeji. The organizers state that no sake is served to anyone driving a car, motorbike or bicycle, so come by public transport.

There are 12 car parks within a 12-minute walk of MONZEN Himeji Local Gateway (Quel Himeji 1F–2F, Himeji, Hyogo), and 2 public restrooms within 8 minutes. The map shows each with its walking time.

Why You Should Visit

A charity tasting where 18 sake breweries from the Harima region pour their picks, including "GI Harima" bottles brewed only with Hyogo-grown Yamada Nishiki rice. Join the 500-yen charity on the day and you receive a strip of five tickets, exchanging one to three of them per pour. Staff from some of the breweries pour their own sake, so you can ask the makers about what you are drinking before choosing the next glass. Mini snacks made with Harima ingredients are served alongside, and a few of the bottles are on sale to take home. The venue is MONZEN, right by JR Himeji Station.
