Why You Should Visit

Once a year, Hakutsuru—one of the great Nada breweries—opens its head office, Sake Brewery Museum and production plant to the public. Entry is free with no reservation. Highlights include free plant tours, paid tastings of sake and wine (6 tickets for ¥500), a ¥3,000 lucky bag with nine bottles, and the debut of Hakutsuru cocktails mixed live. The plant side has food stalls, kitchen cars and an outdoor stage, while the museum lawn is an alcohol-free zone reserved for families, with papermaking and super-ball scooping for kids. Drinkers and non-drinkers alike will find something to do.

Kitchen cars: banh mi, baumkuchen, katsu sandwiches, grilled vegetables

No. Entry is free, though admission may be limited when crowded.

Is it fun for family members who don't drink?

Yes. The museum lawn is an alcohol-free family zone with papermaking and super-ball scooping for kids, and the plant tour is free.
