Price & booking: Ninja class ¥1,000 (advance booking required). Fees for other activities are not listed on the official page. The ninja class requires advance booking (ages from kindergarten year 1 to grade 3, 20 spots); apply to Silk no Mori (0744-26-6201). The mystery stamp rally is limited to 30 groups per session and the overwintering insect watch to 10 groups per session.
Venue & access: Niizawa Senzuka Kofun Cluster Park From Kintetsu Kashihara-jingu-mae Station (west exit), about 5 min by bus to the "Silk no Mori" stop.

Why You Should Visit

A one-day autumn festival spread across Niizawa Senzuka Kofun Cluster Park in Kashihara, Nara. The Dragon Plaza hosts a kids' dance event, a brass band concert and a calligraphy performance, while the Kashihara City Museum offers mud menko making and a sapphire hunt, and Silk no Mori has insect encounters and a guided look at overwintering bugs. Add a harvest sale at the farm village and the Chizuka Terrace Market, and you can walk six areas of the park in one visit. A good half-day out for families among ancient burial mounds.
