The 51st Yamato Sakurai Manyo Festival 2026

Why You Should Visit

An autumn day festival at the Sakurai City Hall parking lot, built around Tsubaichi, a market of local food and goods stalls. Stages run all day with a DJ event, live music, a kids' dance show, sumo for children, Kawachi Ondo folk dance and more, closing with a citizens' parade. Now in its 51st year, this year's theme is "A festival where we meet again."

FAQ

Do I need a reservation to enter?

No booking has been announced. Food and goods at the Tsubaichi market are bought at each stall.

Will it be held in the rain?

It goes ahead in light rain, with no postponement date. If weather warnings make it unsafe, the organizer may cancel.

Can I bring children?

Yes. The programme includes children's sumo, a civic parade by local kindergarten children, and a kids' dance show.

Is there parking?

There is no parking at the venue, and nearby roads may be very congested. Please come by public transport; it is about a 15-minute walk from Sakurai Station.
