cost: Free entry (food and goods are paid at each stall)
Venue & access: Takatori Children's Park and Tosa Kaido street (Takatori) About 10 minutes on foot from Tsubosakayama Station on the Kintetsu Yoshino Line. By car, park at the Takatori Town Hall lot (¥500 per visit) and take the free shuttle bus to the venue (parking in the castle-town area is unavailable on the day)

Why You Should Visit

Held every November in the old castle town below the mountaintop Takatori Castle. At the main venue in the children's park you can watch taiko drumming, matchlock gun demonstrations, sword-fight choreography and Chinese acrobatics, and at 13:00 a procession in armor and period dress parades along the Tosa Kaido street. Food stalls and market booths line the street, so you can snack your way past the old merchant houses. Guests for 2026 are actress Miki Murai and history entertainer Rekishi-kun (Yoshiteru Hasegawa). Entry is free, making it an easy autumn day out for castle and samurai-history fans and families alike.
