Why You Should Visit
Around 100 classic cars and supercars from across Japan line up on the grounds of the Asuka Village Office for this vintage-car show, now in its fifth edition and the first since Asuka-Fujiwara joined the World Heritage list. Besides the display, the Asuka-Fujiwara Historic Parade takes the cars on a roughly two-hour loop past Asukadera Temple, Ishibutai Kofun, the Fujiwara Palace site and more, so you can watch vintage machines roll through ancient burial mounds and farmland. Police, fire and Self-Defense Force vehicles, go-karts and a dance contest round out a day that suits both car fans and families. Admission is free.
