About 8 minutes' walk from Randen Arashiyama Station, or about 11 minutes from JR Saga-Arashiyama Station (Sagano Line). Come by public transport.

TICKETS / REGISTRATION

Advance tickets (2,000 yen) are sold online only through JR Central's EX Tabisaki Yoyaku, which has an English page but requires an EX service membership. An advance ticket guarantees entry and lets you skip the same-day ticket line, though you may still queue at the entrance. Same-day tickets (1,500 yen, cash only) go on sale at 17:50 every day at the booth inside the bamboo path, beside the Daidokoro-zaka slope. Every date sold out last year and the booth gets crowded, so arrive with time to spare.

NOTE

Paid areas:

• Visit Venue 1 first, then Venue 2. No re-entry to either
• Venue 1 is paved; Venue 2 is an unpaved natural path (strollers and wheelchairs at your own judgement)

Not allowed:

• Live streaming, drones, tripods (in the paid areas)
• Cosplay costumes (including during Halloween)
