Why You Should Visit
For two nights, October 11 (Sun) and 12 (Mon, holiday), fireworks rise over the Togetsukyo Bridge area in Arashiyama, Kyoto, from 8:30 p.m. for about five minutes. Revived in 2020 after a 44-year gap, they have become an autumn fixture. In 2025 they were launched from around Nakanoshima Park and could be watched for free from the park surroundings, after the daytime crowds have thinned. Hankyu Arashiyama Station is a short walk away, so it is easy to stroll Arashiyama after dusk and wait for the show.
