Why You Should Visit
A hands-on programme for children at Tarumi Fishing Port: learn about fish, fillet them, eat them, then watch the midday auction. With the cooperation of the Kobe City Fisheries Cooperative, participants hear about the local sea and fishing industry, watch a filleting demonstration, then cook a simple fish dish for lunch. It ends with 10–15 minutes watching the day's catch go under the hammer. Open to children up to junior-high age with a guardian, capped at 15 people. Run as a summer-holiday special by the NPO Hito-Connect Hyogo's children's space "Uchiranchi".
