Why You Should Visit

An open-air festival at Meriken Park built around songs from the Takarauta Project, which turns local people's stories into music. Organized by Kobe Gakuin University students together with Kamikawa Town in rural Hyogo, it features Kobe-based singer-songwriters, a rock band and a chorus group on the stage. Around the lawn you'll find hands-on workshops such as badge-making and bamboo crafts, Kamikawa specialty products, and food trucks serving tacos, crepes and more, plus mascot characters including Kamikawa's Karmin. Admission is free, so it's an easy stop on a Culture Day stroll by the harbor.
