Venue & access: Meiji-no-Mori Minoh Quasi-National Park, along the Takimichi trail (Minoh Falls, Ryuanji and more) The Takimichi trailhead is right by Minoh Station (Hankyu Minoh Line); the falls are about a 40-minute walk up. By car, take Route 423 (Shin-Midosuji) and use parking near Minoh Station.

There are 5 public restrooms within a 8-minute walk of Meiji-no-Mori Minoh Quasi-National Park, along the Takimichi trail (Minoh Falls, Ryuanji and more). The map shows each with its walking time.

Why You Should Visit

A summer-night tradition that lights up the 33-meter Minoh Falls and spots along the Takimichi trail — Ryuanji temple, Saikoji and the Daimon bridge — with full-color LED washes themed on summer coolness. The gorge walk feels noticeably cooler than the city, making this one of Osaka's best evening-stroll escapes from the heat. On August 15 a projection mapping show plays at Ryuanji. Free to view; walk up the trail from Hankyu Minoh Station.

Is the trail walkable at night?

Display lighting runs until 21:00, but some stretches are dark, so walkable shoes and a flashlight are recommended. It's about a 40-minute uphill walk from the station to the falls.

When is the projection mapping?

On Saturday, August 15, 19:30–21:00 at Ryuanji temple. It's cancelled in rain with no alternate date.

Is it actually cooler up there?

Yes — the trail follows a shaded gorge stream and feels noticeably cooler than the city at night. A light extra layer is worth bringing.
