Nanki Shirahama Treasure Hunt 2026

Why You Should Visit

A free treasure hunt on Shirarahama, Shirahama's famous white-sand beach. Mounds of sand are piled up with "treasure" buried inside: plastic capsules, each holding a slip with the name of a prize. There is a separate sand mound just for children of primary-school age and under, so little ones can dig without competing with adults. Billed as "the day Shirarahama becomes a mountain of treasure", it makes an easy half-day outing with kids on the beach after the summer crowds have gone.
