Kusayama Rakuichi Rakuza Harvest Fair 2026

Why You Should Visit

A harvest market run by residents of Kusayama in the northeast of Tamba-Sasayama, held in the car park of Kusayama Onsen Yamamori-no-Yu. Local Tamba black edamame, Tamba chestnuts and new-crop Koshihikari rice are on sale, and the local nishiki-nabe (wild boar soup) is served. There is a prize lottery with Tamba-Sasayama beef vouchers among the prizes, plus stage performances by Sasayama Kagura, the Sasayama Komushu Urizun drum group and others. Part of the city's October Aji Matsuri month, when black edamame sales open.

Anything to know when driving?

Traffic backs up around Tannan-Sasayamaguchi IC during the edamame season. The city recommends arriving before 10:00 and, when the IC is congested, using other exits such as Sanda-Nishi IC, Takino-Yashiro IC or Chiyokawa IC on the Kyoto Jukan Expressway.
