Why You Should Visit

At 931 m, the summit area of Mt. Rokko runs about 5°C cooler than central Kobe — and this three-day event leans on nature and sound rather than air conditioning to convey that. Paddle a canoe on the pond in the SIKI Garden, kick off your shoes for an earthing walk across cool moss and grass, or handle wind chimes, kalimbas and other cooling instruments. On the 19th there is an open-air taiko concert. A good fit for anyone who wants to feel Rokko's long history as a summer retreat firsthand.

FAQ

Do I need a reservation?
The festival programmes such as the canoe rides and earthing walk are drop-in during their listed hours. Only the advanced music-box assembly course requires booking in advance.
What happens if it rains?
The "play cooling sounds" corner is cancelled in rain, and the canoe rides are cancelled in severe weather — a cancellation is posted on the official X account by 9:30 that morning. The concert on the 19th moves indoors to the Concert Room in poor weather.
Is there anything to note about shoes or what to bring?
The earthing experience is done barefoot on moss and grass, so shoes you can slip on and off easily are handy. Most of the programme is outdoors, and the summit runs about 5°C cooler than central Kobe.
