Why You Should Visit

A street festival on Port Island where students, companies, community groups and residents bring the projects they have always wanted to try into the island's public spaces. This year's theme is "Open PoAi". Three sites — the Green Promenade, Shimin Hiroba South Green Space (the former KOWS site) and the Central Green Axis — host a flea market, craft market, picture-book fair, gourmet garden, farmers' market, used-book reuse corner and the Kids Port Marche for children. Kobe Gakuin University's campus festival and a science festival run on the island the same day, so you can hop between them on the Port Liner.

A stamp rally around Port Island spots starts on Sat, Oct 31 (prizes are original goods from local companies)

FAQ

Does it go ahead if it rains?

It goes ahead in rain and is cancelled only in stormy weather. Any cancellation is announced by 9:00 a.m. on the day on the City of Kobe's event site "Odekake KOBE".

Can I drive there?

No parking is provided, and visitors are asked to come by public transport. Minatojima, Shimin Hiroba and Iryo Center stations on the Port Liner are the closest to the sites.

Is it good for kids?

Besides the Kids Port Marche for children, there are a kids' art activity, a picture-book fair by Machi Library Minatojima, festival games by the welfare facility Po-Ai, and a display and talk on invasive species.
