Why You Should Visit
An end-of-summer fair and stargazing night at Wood Design Park Yoi, a campground in Yamasaki, Shiso. By day there are food stalls (curry, baked goods), goldfish scooping and workshops for making moon-viewing dumplings and LED lanterns, followed by plastic-bottle rocket launches in the evening. From 19:00 the Kobe University astronomy club sets up telescopes for the moon and stars, and sparklers are handed out around the campfire. A relaxed night for families who want dark skies away from city lights.
