Why You Should Visit

A limited-time festival that puts street pianos anyone can play in shopping malls, stations, hotel terraces and parks across Osaka Prefecture. Billed as one of Japan's largest street piano festivals, it comes to the Kansai region for the first time, running from 31 October to 27 December, with pianos appearing at 16 venues and one satellite site on staggered schedules. The settings vary: a foot piano you play with your feet, the observation lobby on the 21st floor of Sakai City Hall, open-air terraces. The official ambassador, pianist Sumi Wataru, also gives short stage performances at several venues. Good for anyone who wants to play a tune on the way through, or simply listen.
