Why You Should Visit

Once a year, farmers from within Osaka City bring their vegetables and fruit to the Free Plaza of Nagai Park. Entries are judged in a produce competition, and after the awards the same crops go on sale. There are also stalls selling Naniwa traditional vegetables (heirloom varieties certified by Osaka City), food stands, and a stage that opens with a ceremony followed by Kawachi Ondo folk dance music. Free entry, held rain or shine. A good stop if you want to buy produce grown inside the city straight from the people who grow it, or are spending a weekend in the park with family.
