Why You Should Visit

An autumn festival in Nagaokakyo that recalls the wedding journey of Tama, daughter of Akechi Mitsuhide (later known as Hosokawa Gracia), to Shoryuji Castle. First held in 1992, it reaches its 33rd edition in 2026. On November 8, about 1,000 people in period costume parade roughly 3 km from Nagaoka Dairoku Elementary School to Shoryuji Castle Park, while stage shows and food stalls open at venues around the city, including the castle park and Bambio Plaza. From October 31, Garasha Week brings concerts, exhibitions and craft markets around JR Nagaokakyo Station.
