Why You Should Visit

Once a year, the entire Motomachi Shopping Street turns into a festive night market. The 43rd edition starts at 18:00 on Tuesday, July 28, with each block of the arcade hosting its own happenings. Around 19:30, a special five-minute edition of the Kobe Port Weekend Fireworks is launched at nearby Meriken Park. A relaxed summer evening of strolling, street food and fireworks in the heart of Kobe.

Is there an admission fee?

No — the night market takes place along the shopping street and is free to enter. Food and goods are sold at individual stalls.

What time are the fireworks?

A special five-minute Kobe Port Weekend Fireworks show is planned from around 19:30 at Meriken Park — launched over the harbor to the south, not above the arcade itself.

Will it be held in the rain?
