Why You Should Visit

The first book market at Kyoto Tsutaya Books in Shijo-Kawaramachi, held as part of the store's 3rd anniversary festival. Over two days, 32 publishers, photographers, illustrators, letterpress printers, furniture makers and other creators set up in the 6th-floor SHARE LOUNGE. The line-up changes each day, so Saturday and Sunday offer different stalls. Entry is free, and the store connects underground to Hankyu Kyoto-kawaramachi Station, so rain is no issue. A good fit if you like picking up books and paper goods while talking to the people who made them.

Is there an entry fee?

Entry is free. Books and works are bought from each exhibitor.

Are the same exhibitors there both days?

No. The line-up changes between Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th, so check the day if you are going for a specific exhibitor.

Can I go on a rainy day?

Yes. The venue is indoors and connects underground to Hankyu Kyoto-kawaramachi Station.
