Why You Should Visit
Kyoto Botanical Garden's annual autumn chrysanthemum show. Around 300 pots fill a special display area on the Great Lawn, centred on large-flowered and small-flowered varieties, including cascade-trained and bonsai-style chrysanthemums. From October 29 more plants go on show in front of the Main Gate. Some of the displayed plants are for sale, and the show is included with garden admission. Right by Kitayama Station, it pairs well with an early-autumn stroll before the leaves turn.
