Walkable from either Uji Station on the Keihan Uji Line or JR Nara Line. By car the Uji-higashi interchange on the Keiji Bypass is nearest, though no parking or traffic information is published officially.

- The hoko lanterns run in light rain but may be cancelled in severe weather or high water from a dam release
