Walkable from either Uji Station on the Keihan Uji Line or JR Nara Line. By car the Uji-higashi interchange on the Keiji Bypass is nearest, though no parking or traffic information is published officially.

There are 11 car parks within a 12-minute walk of Uji Park (Tou-no-shima), and 4 public restrooms within 8 minutes. The map shows each with its walking time.

Booking

• The incense workshop requires booking, open from 10:00 on 15 July
• The Amagase Dam night and digital tours were allocated by lottery and are closed

• The power station interior cannot be visited
• The hoko lanterns run in light rain but may be cancelled in severe weather or high water from a dam release
