Why You Should Visit

For one night the Ujibashi-dori shopping street closes to traffic as a co-hosted part of Kyo-no-Tanabata in Uji. Twenty breweries and bottle shops set up, drawn not only from Kyoto but from Tanba-Sasayama and Nagahama. Collaboration dishes with the street's own restaurants, a live music booth and a children's play area run by Kyoto Bunkyo University mean non-drinkers and families fit in too. At 20:08:08 everyone toasts with Uji tea, broadcast live by FM Uji from 14:00.
