Why You Should Visit

A free music-and-food gathering on the plaza in front of Kyoto City Hall, running from 3pm on a Sunday until 8pm as the sun goes down. Shuya Okino (Kyoto Jazz Massive) leads a lineup of Kyoto DJs and artists, joined by bebop jazz dance crews. Local vendors pour Nude Beer, a craft brewery from Keihoku, and mead from Shiga, alongside Giro Giro's dashimaki curry rice, tacos, burgers and bagels. Tourouyama Font, a design project born at a Kyoto welfare facility, runs a pin badge workshop. A good pick for a relaxed Sunday evening with a drink and music in central Kyoto.
