Why You Should Visit

Every 3 November since 2004, the kokoka Kyoto International Community House in Keage opens the whole building for its Open Day, now in its 23rd year. More than 20 stalls serve food and drinks from around the world in the World Food Stalls, music and dance run all day on indoor and outdoor stages, and you can try on a furisode kimono or costumes from other countries. This year also brings a panel exhibition for the 30th anniversary of Kyoto's sister-city tie with Prague and Kyoto City's peace project exhibition of atomic bomb posters. Entry is free, making it an easy day out for families curious about world food and culture.
