Price & booking: Free admission (food and some activities are paid; the Asobeeru Aquarium costs ¥800 for ages 3 and up, free for age 2 and under) No registration is needed to enter or buy from the food trucks. Venue & access: Sunshine Wharf Kobe 10-minute walk south from Oagi Station on the Hanshin Line. By car, turn seaward at the Oagi intersection on Route 43; 850 free parking spaces.

Why You Should Visit

Three days of food trucks — 17 per day — lining Sunshine Wharf Kobe, a bayside shopping complex within walking distance of Hanshin Oagi Station. Meals and desserts are both covered, and you eat right there in the open-air plaza with the sea breeze coming through. The stage runs a rotating programme of police and fire brigade bands, local dance teams and school groups, while a travelling aquarium, pickleball taster sessions and a camper van display fill out the grounds. Admission is free, making it an easy holiday-weekend outing where you can eat while the kids find something to do.

Is there an admission fee?

Admission is free. You only pay for food from the trucks and for some activities such as the Asobeeru Aquarium.

Is there parking if I drive?

Sunshine Wharf Kobe has 850 free parking spaces. It fills up over the holiday weekend, so walking from Hanshin Oagi Station is a reasonable alternative.

Is it good for children?

There is plenty for kids: a travelling aquarium where they can touch the animals, craft workshops, a taiko drum class and pickleball taster sessions. The Captain Pikachu greeting is by lottery.

Is it cancelled if it rains?

It goes ahead in light rain and is cancelled only in severe weather. The stage and some activities, however, may be called off even in ordinary rain.
