Dates & time: July 19, 2026 (Sun) - July 20, 2026 (Mon) From 11:00 each day (water-fight registration opens 10:30)
Price & booking: Free admission (water-fight participation: ¥1,000 for ages 16+, ¥500 for under 16, as a water-supply fee) No reservation needed. To join the water fight, pay the water fee at the on-site reception (from 10:30 each day) and receive a wristband.
Venue & access: Kobe Port Island Civic Square (Shimin Hiroba) / Central Square Right by Shimin Hiroba Station on the Port Liner, about 10 minutes from Sannomiya Station

Why You Should Visit

A two-day Thai Songkran water festival in Kobe. At Port Island's Civic Square, kids and adults alike get soaked head to toe in water-gun battles — with a fire truck famously joining in with its hose. Live stage performances, Meriken pro-wrestling and food trucks round out the fun, making it a great family day out. There is only one rule: don't get mad when you get splashed!

Can I enjoy the event without getting wet?

Admission is free and you can just watch. A lot of water flies around, so step outside the splash area during water-fight times if you want to stay dry.

Can children join the water fight?

Yes. Children under 16 pay a ¥500 water fee, and kids 10 and under must be accompanied by a guardian.

Is the event held in the rain?

It goes ahead in light rain but is cancelled in stormy weather. Check the official website or Instagram for same-day updates.

Is there somewhere to change clothes?
