Why You Should Visit

A neighborhood summer festival at Kitayama Park in Kita-Suzurandai, spilling over into the housing development just to its east. Expect eight-plus stalls of festival games and another eight-plus food stalls and kitchen cars, plus shaved ice and ramune soda. Every visitor gets a glow bracelet, so the grounds light up as the sun goes down. It runs from late afternoon into the evening at a walkable, family-sized scale.

Is there an admission fee?

Admission is free. Festival games and food from the stalls are paid for at each booth.

Can I drive there?

There is no parking or bicycle parking at the venue. Use a nearby coin parking lot or come by Shintetsu train, and please avoid parking on the street.

What happens if it rains?

The event is cancelled in case of rain, with no rain date. Check the official site for announcements if the weather looks doubtful.

Is it suitable for children?

The lineup — festival games, shaved ice and the like — is aimed largely at children. The organizers ask that children come with a guardian rather than on their own.
