Why You Should Visit

Kenmin Foods, the maker behind Japan's best-known yaki-beefun (fried rice noodles), opens its Sasayama factory in Tamba-Sasayama to the public for an autumn festival. The first edition in April drew over 1,400 visitors, and this is the second. Walk past production lines that are normally closed to the public, then grab freshly cooked yaki-beefun, gluten-free ramen or rice-flour crêpes from the food stalls, and pick up dried and frozen products at special prices. There are activities for kids too, and entry is free — a relaxed day out for families.
